I was born and raised in a modest business family, where poverty was a reality—but never an excuse. From a very young age, I worked alongside my parents, learning the fundamentals of business, discipline, and perseverance. Those early lessons shaped my mindset: our lives should never remain limited by our circumstances.
I was born, raised, and educated in Neyveli.
Later, I moved to Chennai for higher studies, where I pursued Animation and went on to work in an IT company for five years, earning a stable and respectable income.
In 2020, I got married. Just two months later, the world was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. Work-from-home became the norm, and during that time, a powerful thought took root in my mind—to build something of my own.
During my wedding, I had visited Ilampillai, where I discovered its identity as a traditional silk weaving town, deeply rooted in craftsmanship yet struggling economically. That visit changed my life. I asked myself, “Why not make this my business?”
At the peak of the COVID crisis, I moved alone to Ilampillai, rented a small house, and began observing the lives and work of the weavers closely. Lockdowns had forced saree shops to shut down, leaving weavers with unsold products and no income. Many of them went door to door, requesting people to buy their sarees.
That moment became the foundation of Prabha Tex.
With a capital of ₹5 lakhs, I began purchasing sarees directly from the weavers, supporting them when they needed it the most. I promoted these products through social media and collaborated with a private YouTube channel to create a promotional video—while still continuing my IT job.
The response was beyond expectations.
Online sales surged, even when physical stores were closed. Encouraged by this growth, I eventually resigned from my IT job and dedicated myself fully to the business.
As restrictions eased, I opened our first Prabha Tex store. A single promotional video crossed 300,000+ views, and customer demand outgrew the space, leading us to expand into a three-floor showroom. What began as a husband-and-wife operation soon grew into a professionally managed business with a growing team.
Over the last five years, Prabha Tex has grown like a banyan tree—with multiple branches in Ilampillai, Neyveli, and Siruvanthadu.
Today:
We dispatch 800–1000 parcels daily
Serve both retail and wholesale customers
Sell locally and ship across India and worldwide
Support home-based women entrepreneurs and resellers
Provide livelihoods to 40+ employees
We also launched our own YouTube channel, and despite having no prior media experience, it is now approaching 400,000 subscribers, making Prabha Tex one of the fastest-growing saree brands in online commerce.
Our success is built on three pillars:
1. Relentless Hard Work
2. Uncompromising Honesty
3. Respect for People
We believe in paying our weavers and vendors on time, standing by those who trust us, and treating our employees as family. Recently, Prabha Tex proudly supported the weddings of two female employees by providing substantial financial assistance as part of our social responsibility.
Once, producers hesitated to supply sarees worth even ₹10,000 to us. Today, they confidently entrust us with goods worth ₹10 crores—a testament to the trust we have built through integrity.
From a rented house and a single dream, Prabha Tex has now:
Acquired multiple properties
Invested ₹1 crore into building a grand three-storey flagship showroom on owned land in Ilampillai
Set a vision of “One Prabha Tex outlet in every district”
Prabha Tex is not just a business—it is a movement that empowers weavers, creates employment, and proves that when passion meets honesty, success follows.
